One of the newest techniques successfully used in dentistry, particularly dental implants and oral surgery, is the technique of-PRF.
A-PRF is a platelet-rich plasma obtained from blood extracted from the patient and processed laboratory processes, namely by centrifugation. Extraction and processing of plasma runs during surgical operations (extraction, sinus lift dental implant) and these operations shall be completed with the use of plasma obtained in the surgical area.
Plasma contains high PRF platelet growth factors, which promote the proliferation and differentiation of cells, chemotaxia, essential processes in osteogenesis (bone spur).
Centrifugation allows recovering without anti-rennet of fibrin which contains platelets and hence their husbandry factors are, among others, PDGF (Platelet-derived growth factor), TGF-Beta (Transforming growth factor beta) and VEGF (Vascular endothelial growth factor). Fibrin plays a dual role: tank citockine and cellular matrix of scarring.
So far, there have been published over 180 articles about PRF international, of which 52 in early 2013, all demonstrating the important role you play these in bone and gingival healing.
When the membranes are used-PRF?
Membranes obtained from A-PRF is used in:
- dental implant surgery
- the operation of addition bone
- sinus lift surgery
- dental extraction
- treatment of periodontitis in the surgery with flap
